National Grades and Compulsories 2017
Four FGA gymnasts travelled to Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club in Ipswich on 18/19th March to compete in the East Regional National Grades and Compulsories competition.
On Saturday 18th, Lilia Riley and Alysia Hawes competed in National Grade 3. Both girls performed well and got some promising scores which led them to passing their grade. Lilia placed 15th overall and Alysia placed 13th overall, Alysia also managed to place 5th on Bars with a score of 12.950 which was a fantastic achievement.
On Sunday 19th, Shanae Sigorney and Talia Craigen competed in the Compulsory Grades competition. Talia passed by 5 marks scoring 55.0 and placing 5th in her first ever Regional competition. Shanae passed and scored 58.5 (just 0.5 away from qualifying for the National Finals), Shanae placed 6th overall and managed to place 2nd on Floor which is absolutely brilliant in a really tough field of gymnasts.
Head Coach; Claire said: "I am so pleased with the results from the weekend, the girls performed really well and did their job's by passing their grades, FGA is improving at this competition every single year so we are looking forward to getting back in the gym and working for next year."
